Pow Wow

The Powells have been a fun family to get to know, and they were so fun to photograph!
I love easy, laid back people because everything goes so smooth

and where to start with the kids?

how about with the youngest :) Dax.

he obviously loves his sister....

and is in aw of his big brother

I'll be honest I was slightly worried about Dax because as his mom will tell you he isn't her easiest child, I've seen him get upset and he's so adorable I secretly call him Jack Jack off of the incredibles because he's a doll but watch out if he gets angry! However he was in a relatively good mood as long as mommy was in sight

after a few minutes with her and Dax was ready for his close ups :)
though his eyes would follow his momma wherever she went

but can you blame him, she's gorgeous and seriously one of the most kind and patient people I've met!

Savannah is such a pretty young girl.

I laughed when her mom told me, it's okay if you don't get pictures of Savi smiling in them, it's not really her thing :)

and true to form she wasn't generous in that department
though there was one person who could get a genuine smile out of this girl

Jonas on the other hand was sharp as a tack and beyond funny.

Seriously I asked him to tell me a joke and he was silent... so I said okay well say cheese. He then said "knock, knock" who's there? (I replied of course) he said Gorgonzola.
It seriously took me a minute but I was thinking how in the world does this kid even know what Gorgonzola is?hahaha

these kids were just fun!

I can't imagine where they get it from?

hehehhee

pretty sure Amber is the voice of reason in this family

because Dad is just a big kid himself which is probably why he makes such a good dentist for kiddos!

Perfectly paired I would say

so Thanks Powell's for letting me catch a few more glimpses into your awesome, fun family

Couldha wouldha

Imagine that your bestest buds just moved across country so you start getting more involved with other people to help pass the time. You realize that some of these people have real potential to fill the gap, and so you put yourself out there and make friends with them. All of a sudden BAM practically everyone you started getting close to decides to up an MOVE. Grrr.... Lesson learned self stay in your dark little corner because otherwise you'll get burned. Hahaha, the Miyasaki's were some of the first people to invite Daniel and I to actually do something and it was fun and I found that I had somethings in common with Valerie, not to mention my kids are in love with Emery AKA Emmy AKA Kai Lan. Liam actually has a cute little boy crush on her :) So when I heard they were moving to Seattle I got really bummed because Valerie doing laundry at my house for a few hours one day seemed to be the start of a beautiful friendship :) hahaha. J/K I am so excited for David's new opportunities. I will miss you guys and I hope you'll get a chance to come visit or vice-versa!
It was a joy to take your photos!

Together

This was my first blended family. It was an interesting family dynamic, but a fun one.
Lila contacted me to do her family photos, she also told me she always takes family pictures with her sons stepmother who happens to be her best friend. She also told me her favorite color was red and  I was able to put together something from there. To be honest it wasn't my easiest shoot, I was getting over being sick and couldn't be very vocal but these two mamas helped giving directions. I hope they love what came of it all :) Enjoy!

Lila both you and Trish are gorgeous, thanks for the fun opportunity!
